GUMC Worship 2/6/2022

In the wake of the violent attacks at Bridgewater College this week, our community is grieving the loss of a friend and two good people. We ask the question why does this type of unprovoked violence have to keep happening? Today we lament the evil that exists in the world. We also find hope through Jesus' teaching as he encourages Simon Peter and other fishermen not to become discouraged, but tells them to fish from the other side of the boat. we can't give up on working towards peace or even loving those who have committed these acts, but we continue to pray and work for God's Kingdom. Sometimes we have to change the side of the boat we are fishing from for a new or renewed perspective.
