For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45
Grottoes United Methodist Church is not only a place of worship, but it is a mission site in the Grottoes Community.
It is in this place that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ sent out to serve the least, the lost and the lonely. We are called to give of our time and gifts (not only money), but our skills, our talents, and the things that God has gifted us and graced us with in t he power of the Holy Spirit.
The Church is the Church, only when it lives into its calling to share the Gospel Message with the world.
There are many ways that we can do that!
Here at Grottoes United Methodist Church, we are home to the East Rockingham Ministerial Association Food Pantry.
The Food Pantry is always looking for new volunteers to assist with this vital feeding ministry.
Grottoes is always looking for new ways that we can engage our community!
not only can you volunteer in our ministries, but also in places such as our weekly worship services with our technology ministries, Audio/Visual and live streaming ministries. Our Streaming Radio Station (WesleyOne), volunteering as a greeter, nursery attendant, or with our music leadership.
But wait there's still more!
Through our denominational connection, you can become a local missionary, or a global missionary.
You can become an early responder in the aftermath of a natural disaster or you can go as part of an UMVIM (United Methodist Volunteers in Mission) Team and assist in the long term rebuilding projects to help families and communities recover after a natural disaster.
You can also help support UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) one of the world's top ranked relief agencies.
we also have ministries catered to all generations.
because we are a global church, we have connections all over the world!
you can be a part of that!

Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discernment of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are activated by one and the same Spirit, who allots to each one individually just as the Spirit chooses. For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body...
